The Horsey Run 5k is a charity race to benefit the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance.
After the basic things are paid for (things like food, shirts, bibs, the venue, this website, etc.), every cent will go straight to the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (TAA) which helps retired race horses.
Who is this race for?
People who don’t take running that seriously, but want to run.
The idea is to have fun and not stress the small stuff while helping a good cause.
Chances are, you grew up or live in this great state of Kentucky. If you grew up in Kentucky, your life has been effected by thoroughbreds. Either by spending a nice spring day at Keeneland or one of the other tracks around here, or by spending a nice day driving around the country admiring the view. Or from the constant economic advantages that it comes to have horses around here. People come from literally all over the world to see these farms and our state and businesses benefits from those visitors every day.
It’s our responsibility, as people who have benefited from these animals, to make sure that they have the best life imaginable, regardless of where they are in their life.
This race is for people who want to give back to these horses and the community!
